Membership with BMS

BMS represents marketers within the book industry. It champions marketing professionalism and works on co-operative industry projects to raise the profile of books and help expand the UK book market. Anyone working for a publisher, bookseller, wholesaler or any other associated area of the publishing and book retailing industry is eligible for membership.

Membership of the BMS provides opportunities for:

  • regular discussions with colleagues in the book industry on marketing issues

Membership is open to anyone, and includes:

  • three Open Meetings a year, with industry and outside speakers on topics of interest to marketers
  • presentations on forthcoming marketing opportunities
  • noticeboard for key marketing events
  • the ability to enter the seasonal Best Marketing Campaign Awards; winning and runner-up campaigns will be longlisted for the annual Marketing Campaign Award at the annual Bookseller Industry Awards, held in conjunction with the Book Industry Conference each year
  • eligibility to enter the annual Best Blurb Award
  • access to exclusive BML research via the BookZone consumer panel
  • specially convened Forum meetings for debate and discussion as appropriate
  • drinks at each meeting

Fees

Companies are encouraged to enrol as many people as possible, any of whom can then attend meetings and submit campaigns for the Awards. There are therefore substantial discounts for multiple memberships within a company, as follows:
