About the role

We have the rare opportunity for a full-time Digital Marketing and Content Executive to join the Women’s Prize team on a one-year fixed-term contract. The position will report to the Executive Director with day-to-day matrix reporting to the Digital Director, and be a core part of the team, speaking directly to readers and writers across our channels daily, crafting content that aligns with the Women’s Prize Trust’s core values and delivers our mission to champion equity for women in the world of books.

This role will be integral to the small Women’s Prize Trust team and will provide support across a variety of digital activations, campaigns and events. The postholder will work on owned, earned and shared digital channels. This might, for instance, mean creating content for and publishing to the Women’s Prize Trust website and scheduling newsletters (owned), creating social media engagement, post and reports (earned) and providing assistance for content and digital activations on partner channels (shared). We need someone who is fluent across multiple digital content types and digital marketing channels, who is passionate about the Women’s Prize Trust’s mission, excited to work with talent and the world of books in general, and energised by the prospect of a diverse day-to-day role, full of variety and the opportunity to be creative and have your voice heard.

Person Specification

Ideal skills and experience:

  • Experience managing multiple social platforms and a track record of creating engaging brand content across Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and others
  • Experience creating content for and publishing to the Women’s Prize Trust website and scheduling newsletters (owned), creating social media engagement, post and reports (earned) and providing assistance for content and digital activations on partner channels (shared), and managing the paid online advertising campaigns (paid).
  • The ability to turn raw data into insight – to interrogate digital analytics and present them in a useful and informative way
  • An understanding of SEO best practices and how to write SEO-friendly copy
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Excellent copy-writing skills, both short  and long form, with newsletter experience
  • Experience working with high-profile personalities to amplify our mission and build relationships with them as future ambassadors
  • Experience working with influencers, from scouting emerging talent to building rapport to ensure they deliver content and advocate
  • Ability to apply design guidelines, using graphic design tools to create visually striking content
  • Understanding the essentials for video content capture and editing, able to undertake this to a high standard, and recognising opportunities for video content when they might arise at short notice
  • Utilising audio content across platforms in an engaging and interactive way
  • An understanding of live and online events in relation to content the key steps to engaging an audience and deliver a memorable experience
  • Minimum 18 months experience in a marketing or creative role team, or publishing house

  • A strong interest in popular culture, especially in relation to digital marketing, social media and female pioneers
  • Likes to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in digital advertising and content marketing

 

Main Duties:

  • Write and edit copy for digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email, web and social media
  • Lead on CRM activity, writing compelling copy to a high standard and work alongside the wider team to acquire new audiences
  • Oversee community management processes and social listening scaling insights to the wider organisation
  • Work closely with the PR team to maximise podcast opportunities, thinking strategically about content and feeding creatively into the process
  • Collaborate with all team members to develop compelling concepts and projects iteratively, ensuring copy is aligned with overall messaging
  • Assist in programming events and writing workshops both on and offline
  • Analyse performance data and adjust copy as needed to improve KPIs
  • Reporting for post-event/project/campaign analysis, through audience surveys and on-the-spot feedback
  • Work with brand partners on all actionable deliverables
  • Support on influencer engagement
  • Ensure throughout all messaging awareness of the Women’s Prize Trust is pivotal, crafting narratives that focus on the mission and values of the charity

 

Benefits

  • Annual salary £27 – £31k dependent on experience
  • 35-hour working week with flexible working available and the need to attend events in the evenings and weekends 
  • Role is remote-based with a certain amount of face-to-face with London-based team (travel expenses to be agreed). Working space in London potentially available for some of the time if required
  • 28 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension contribution
