Role overview

A dynamic and exciting marketing role working for HarperCollins’ new dedicated digital publishing division, One More Chapter. Working across a diverse and dedicated range of Digital fiction titles, including Crime and Thriller, General Fiction and Romance, with responsibility for leading and executing the marketing strategy for titles published across both the UK and US, which deliver clear-consumer cut-through and demonstrable return on investment.

Responsibilities

• Originating digital marketing strategy to drive sales and build brand equity across the list

• Planning and executing marketing campaigns across a range of titles and authors

• Developing year-round strategies alongside the Publishing Director to cover PPC, Search, CRM, and social media

• Line-managing the Marketing Executive, setting clear goals and objectives

• Working closely with bloggers, vloggers and influencers to drive interest and sales

• Working closely with reading communities and platforms to maximise exposure and engagement for each book release

• Working closely with authors to advise best practise to maximise sales potential

• Responsible for consumer-facing marketing channels, including managing social media and website

• Working closely with the digital sales team to coordinate marketing activity in support of digital promotions

• Working closely with the pricing team to maximise consumer reach and return on investment

• Exploring and securing brand and media partnerships to increase title and brand awareness

• Ensuring competitive advantage and analysing the marketplace for growth opportunities

• Originating and managing the marketing budget

• Analysing all marketing activity and setting clear metrics for growth

Role Requirements

Key Skills/Experience

• Degree or equivalent

• Digital experience from the publishing industry

• Digital marketing professional qualification preferred

• Success in planning and running digital marketing campaigns with proven ROI

• Full grasp of web-related technology and web marketing techniques

• Experience of working to budgets and deadlines

• Experience in an editorially-riven culture

• Asset creation and Photoshop/InDesign knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to express technical and creative vision clearly

• Copywriting skills

• Strong eye for design

• Excellent organisational skills
