Do you thrive on impactful social media campaigns, creative video content and standout design to achieve the best for authors, books, literary prizes and some of the most inspirational organisations out there?

FMcM, one the UK’s leading communications agencies in books and the arts, wants to hear from you. We are looking to expand our marketing function with a candidate that will help us achieve our ambitious goals for this strand of the agency’s work, and bring innovative thinking and fresh ideas to the table.


Core responsibilities:

– Devise and run sophisticated, strategic marketing campaigns across FMcM’s broad portfolio of clients, tracking effectiveness and providing insights and analysis

– Integrate all marketing activities with FMcM’s media, social media and content campaigns to achieve maximum impact for our clients, across platforms

– Devise and run impactful social media campaigns that significantly grow our clients’ following, providing insights and data, and continuously innovate FMcM’s work across social media platforms

– Work collaboratively with the wider team on campaign ideas, input on all major pitches and proposals, and devise ways for marketing to drive our work overall

– Oversee all advertising campaigns for clients (across social media, digital and traditional outlets), negotiating and liaising with third-party agencies

– Support the conception and production of impactful social media assets across the client portfolio

– Support video and other content creation, working closely with FMcM’s Head of Content

– Support the design of media releases, kits, proposals, reports and other external documents

– Support the management of client websites, using a variety of content management systems, including Squarespace, WordPress and custom-built platforms

– Set FMcM’s own marketing strategy, identifying touchpoints to effectively promote the best of our work back to the industry, while closely monitoring our competition


Basic requirements:

– Several years’ experience running strategic marketing campaigns, ideally but not necessarily in the books or arts industry

– Strong awareness of current trends in marketing, developments of social media, and innovative approaches to promotional work

– Strong awareness of the UK literary scene

– Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills

– Proven copywriting skills, from press releases to social media content

– Design experience, using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

– Strong leadership skills and a willingness to train and share skills internally



– Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, or familiarity with another video editing software
