Senior Marketing Executive, Vintage Books

Penguin Random Huse

CLOSING DATE: 16 June 2022

VINTAGE is made up of all kinds of people, but what connects us is our love of books.

We publish some of the world’s most thought-provoking, unforgettable, beautifully designed books – from contemporary trailblazers to our red spine Vintage Classics. Which means that our broad family of authors ranges from world-class prize-winners to brand new, emerging talent.

We know the thrill of coming across an undiscovered work of genius, of reading a classic that you’ve always meant to, of finding a book that speaks urgently to us and our times. We’re not just publishers – we’re passionate book lovers, dedicated to creating beautiful books for people who love to read.

Are you creative, organised, curious and a great communicator?

Vintage is looking for a senior executive with demonstrable marketing experience to plan and implement outstanding multi-platform marketing campaigns for an exciting, enviable range of fiction, from literary to crime, and non-fiction from across the Vintage lists.

You will be able to confidently contribute to creative brainstorms, generate ideas and develop them into sales-driving campaign strategies. An engaging communicator with impeccable author care, you will work closely and effectively with a wide range of departments. Leading on campaigns, you will display excellent organisational and planning skills, delivering campaigns on time and evaluating and sharing your results.

You do not need to have any prior publishing experience to be considered for this role. With a keen eye for competitor activity, you will be curious, innovative and inclusive in your approach, always looking for ways to reach new readers, whether through partnerships, social media initiatives, bookseller engagement or through impeccable campaign creatives and copy. Confident in briefing and running effective digital campaigns and creating, implementing and measuring content strategies for newsletters and websites, you will have an interest in emerging platforms and opportunities and a desire to grow a strong list of influencers, designers and other contacts. With a flair for design, you’ll be interested in design trends and be able to work well with designers.

If this sounds like your next role, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and cover letter by the end of the day on Thursday 16th June. In your cover letter, please tell us (in no more than 200 words) about a campaign you’ve managed that was particularly successful in meeting its objectives, and what made it a success.
