Can you create innovative social media campaigns that get people talking? Can you engage and nurture communities that generate results?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media & Community Manager to join our Penguin Random House Children’s team and drive our community engagement strategies to grow, deepen and retain our consumer brand audiences. You’ll also promote the power of reading and help deliver book sales, ensuring that ambitious growth is placed firmly at the heart of everything we do.

We publish some of the world’s biggest and best-known authors and brands: from Roald Dahl to Peppa Pig. We pride ourselves on our innovation and we put consumers at the heart of everything we do. Our world is changing. Fast. This means that we want to work with a wide range of talent as we find new ways to tell our stories. That is where you come in. We want to hear from different voices and see from fresh perspectives.

Whilst there is no need for formal qualifications or previous experience in publishing, we are looking for someone who can:

  • Develop and own the social media presence and shape the strategy across all social channels – from ideation to execution with a focus on community creation and engagement.
  • Help define KPIs, track and measure activity alongside a test and learn programme to constantly improve and grow the Puffin and Ladybird online communities.
  • Develop creative executions that bring engaging visual and tone that resonate with our audiences taking in the latest trends and formats.
  • Develop and refine community management initiatives across platforms, building and connecting our readers to deliver engaged brand audiences, and promote book sales.
  • Manage a Social Media Executive and support their development.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • A creative, strategic and commercial approach
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • A proven track record in successfully creating and managing successful and innovative social campaigns across multiple social media platforms, ideally for a well-known brand within the children’s/ family space.
  • Broad market awareness within children’s media and family brands space, as well as developments and trends across the social media landscape.
