A NOTE FROM THE CHAIR OF JUDGES, MIRIAM ROBINSON:

‘Your submissions this quarter were, as they always are, just a joy to read. What’s exciting is that, as we see a diversification of publishing propositions, we are also seeing this amazing diversification of campaign strategies to match – or maybe we are able to publish more bravely because we know that we have incredible marketers who get savvier and savvier all the time with how to bring complicated, harder-to-categorise titles to readers.

In Q4 we always, of course, see the mega, blockbuster campaigns but I think we all agreed that they were particularly mega and blockbustery! But also that they combined the weight and punch and graft of the biggest campaigns with subtlety, nuance, empathy and social consciousness, in a way that felt really exciting. Creative angles felt more unexpected, and we loved the way that multiple campaigns acknowledged when they didn’t fully know their audience – and sought the right help to make sure they fully understood who they were speaking to and how.

Overall, really inspiring, really creative and really impressive.’
