Are you creative, organised, curious and a great communicator?
If so, we are looking for a senior executive with two years’ publishing experience or more to plan and implement outstanding multi-platform marketing campaigns for an exciting, enviable range of fiction and non-fiction from across the VINTAGE lists.
You will be able to confidently contribute to creative brainstorms, generate ideas and develop them into sales-driving campaign strategies. A passionate communicator with impeccable author care, you will work closely and effectively with a wide range of departments. Leading on campaigns, you will display excellent organisational and planning skills, delivering campaigns on time and evaluating and sharing your results.
With a keen eye for competitor activity, you will be curious and innovative in your approach, always looking for ways to reach new readers, whether through partnerships, social media initiatives, bookseller engagement or through impeccable campaign creative and copy. Confident in briefing and running effective digital campaigns and creating, implementing and measuring content strategies for newsletters and websites, you will have an interest in emerging platforms and opportunities and a desire to grow a great list of digital, and other, contacts. With a passion for design, experience in using Adobe Suite is desired but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-confessed foodie to work across the full breadth of Bloomsbury’s cookery list. From managing high-profile commercial campaigns for brands such as Tom Kerridge and River Cottage, to breaking out new food writers, we are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and talented marketer to join our Cookery Communications team. Our wide range of award-winning cookbooks celebrate all aspects of food from baking to garden to ocean to table.
The Role
• Managing and implementing imaginative and innovative marketing campaigns on individual titles and brands
• Create engaging and targeted content ranging from sales materials to consumer-facing assets that range from online to outdoor
• Working with designers and other creative professionals to create engaging content to deliver creatives and visual materials that are on brand, optimised and engaging
• Working effectively to marketing budgets, negotiating national outdoor advertising campaigns, print and digital advertising spaces; and developing targeted and closely monitored social media advertising campaigns to reach new audiences for each book
• Collaborating with authors and their teams to develop enticing social media strategies for book campaigns and beyond
• Continuing to develop and understand Bloomsbury’s strong relationship with foodie influencers
• Staying on top of current food and restaurant trends, advising on competitors and working with the editorial teams to curate the list and produce pitch document to acquire new talent
• Proactively pursue partnerships with brand partners, media partners and key stakeholders to increase campaign visibility
• Devising and delivering the Bloomsbury Cooks brand strategy, including social media and email marketing, managing the department assistant to ensure effective implementation
• Liaise with the global Bloomsbury marketing team ensuring that, wherever possible, Bloomsbury is marketing its titles globally
• Work closely with the Head of Publicity to provide PR support as required, including attending author events and press days
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Experience in a marketing role and in trade publishing, ideally with some experience of working on cookery books and an understanding of the cookery retail marketplace
• Creative vision and excellent copywriting skills
• A good understanding of the foodie social media landscape, social media platforms and online marketing opportunities in general
• A flair for social media promotion
• Excellent organisation skills and an ability to work on several projects simultaneously
• Good eye for detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate colleagues of all levels, high profile authors and influencers
• Ability to cross-market and work with external brands and organisations
• Good presentation skills
• Basic understanding of design software (In-Design/Photoshop)

Your new role
