Working as the sole marketing contact across a range of brand and author-led titles within our award winning children’s division, you will have the opportunity to plan and execute engaging marketing campaigns and projects to promote our brand and drive sales. Working across various digital platforms, including websites, social media, and Amazon, as well as print and school libraries, you will be responsible for maximising promotional opportunities and increasing our market presence.
Amongst the typical duties like planning, approaching & executing brand partnerships; organising, managing and assisting with events & consumer shows, you will be:
- Working with the Senior PR Manager on high profile campaigns/projects/partnerships
- Liaising with authors, agents, brands to create eye-catching, sales driven campaigns
- Creating Content Marketing across all brand communications channels including but not exclusive to Social Media, Emails, Newsletters and DK.com
- Managing the design and production of marketing materials, working closely with the sales, digital and design teams to create effective, consumer focused campaigns.
This role will suit an expert organiser with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload whilst also able to juggle a number of competing deadlines. Your ability to generate new ideas and collaborate with our Design, PR, Social and wider children’s team will play a key part in achieving our marketing objectives. With a need to keep everyone informed and updated, you will be excellent at stakeholder management with solid communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to manage budgets effectively.

THE ROLE AND THE CANDIDATE
This role will be responsible for planning, budgeting and executing highly creative, sales-driving book campaigns across a variety of genres, working closely with other departments to build the best possible strategies to launch new books and drive discoverability for our bestselling catalogue titles.
Key responsibilities:
- Use audience insight, generate creative ideas and develop them into sales-driving marketing campaigns
- Be a passionate communicator working well with other teams across the wider business, with impeccable author care
- Display excellent organisational and planning skills, delivering campaigns on time and to budget
- Monitor, adapt, evaluate and share your results. Use learnings, plus competitor analysis in your future campaign planning
- Provide feedback for acquisitions and feed marketing ideas into pitch documents for prospective authors
To be successful in this role you will always look for creative ways to reach new readers, whether through effective digital advertising campaigns, partnerships, social media, newsletter and website initiatives, bookseller and trade engagement or through memorable campaign concepts and copy lines. You will be passionate and design and have a desire to grow a great list of designers, animators, plus influencers and other useful contacts. Therefore, you’ll always have a keen eye on competitor activity, be curious about the world around you, and innovative and inclusive in your approach.

This role will create awareness of and engagement for Vintage books and authors in order to drive sales and build profiles. Working across new titles as well as catalogue books, including those with high level business priority, this role also includes brand management responsibilities for key authors.
The candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments and display excellent communication skills. You’ll react to sales data and opportunities in the market, communicate campaign performance whilst honing and adapting live campaigns to maximise sales. You’ll be highly organised, simultaneously working across multiple campaigns and delivering them on time and to budget.
Other responsibilities include:
- Briefing your list of talented designers and writing excellent copy to ensure you produce best-in-class, attention-grabbing campaign creative and consumer messaging across all your assets and marketing material.
- Closely working with our media agency to build well-targeted campaigns. You’ll need a strong awareness of digital advertising platforms, the ability to use self-services options as well as work effectively with freelancers, the ability to analyse campaign performance and share insights to inform both individual campaigns and team best practise.
- Devising year-round brand strategy for key Vintage authors, commissioning audience insight and translating data into actionable strategy, identifying opportunities to grow brand awareness, hands-on channel management and excellent communication of plans and results to authors and agents.
- Being commercially minded, curious and inclusive in your approach. Bringing diversity of thought and innovation into the marketing team by looking outside the business for ideas and inspiration to share with the team and improve our work.
- Bringing together your experience with audience insight to provide feedback on acquisitions and leading on the creation of pitch documents for prospective authors.

The role
- Create and implement well rounded marketing campaigns
- Effectively communicate marketing campaigns to all key stakeholders both internal and external
- Managing briefing and creative direction of marketing assets, digital and print and work with all key stakeholders to ensure the material appropriately markets the book
- Proactively identify and build partnerships for key titles, brands and authors
- Work on both title level campaigns and list marketing, including backlist in all relevant promotions
- Manage the creation and distribution of marketing material

Knowledge, skills and experience
- Proven experience of working within a book marketing team
- A high degree of confidence and experience of owning a marketing plan and working with social media, enewsletters, online and offline advertising, working with brands and third parties
- Some design knowledge needed, ability to work in InDesign/Photoshop/Canva
- Video editing skills would be an advantage
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience of reporting plans internally and in author/agent meetings
- The ability to multi-task and work on several different projects simultaneously
- Good copy-writing, proofreading, design and project-management skills.
- Good time-management and people-management skills.

The role is a full-time permanent position
Salary Pay Point: £35,000
The role is based at our London office (50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP) on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are Monday and Tuesday.

We give teachers and educators the books they need to nurture, support and inspire children to become the great minds of the future. Faber is also a supplier of sales and distribution services to independent publishers and has a market-leading creative writing school.
We’re looking for a Children’s Marketing Manager (9-12 months fixed-term contract, minimum 3 days a week) to join the team. With responsibility for all marketing on Faber’s Children’s list, you’ll be a confident and creative campaigns marketer looking to contribute meaningfully to building the Children’s list and brand both within the trade and to consumers.
This is a role for somebody who can put digital marketing at the heart of our campaigns, who can brief beautiful artwork and stand out copy, with a brilliant understanding of the Children’s market, and how to get retailers excited about our books. You’ll help us reach readers from ages 2 – 18, through picture books up to Young Adult fiction, with authors such as Jeffrey Boakye, Emma Carroll, Chris Mould, Jason Reynolds and Francesca Simon.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing all marketing campaigns for the Children’s list, working closely with the Children’s publicist and the Children’s Communications Assistant to create coordinated, holistic and sales-driving campaigns
- Providing marketing feedback at all stages of the publishing process including acquisition, covers and positioning
- Building relationships with authors, illustrators and agents including campaign meetings and pitch meetings for acquisitions
- Producing proofs, presenters and samplers for trade sellin
- Managing the Children’s campaign budgets
- Digital strategy for Faber’s Children’s list social media channels
- Working closely with the Children’s publicist to plan and execute exceptional events
- Other duties as may be required that are within your skill and competence.

Andersen Press is looking for a Head of Marketing (maternity cover) to work across our internationally successful children’s publishing list. including picture books, fiction and young adult books.
You will be joining a small but enthusiastic and collaborative team. You will be responsible for leading and implementing all marketing campaigns to promote our front and backlist titles. You will also work closely with the PR and Brand Director on achieving maximum exposure for the much-loved pre-school brand Elmer the Patchwork Elephant during a very busy anniversary year. This includes supporting charity partnerships, growing the annual Elmer Day celebrations, and promoting licensed products on the Elmer brand social channels.
You will be highly self-motivated, creative and resourceful with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously. You will be an exceptional communicator with strong copy-writing skills and a keen interest in social media. Attention to detail, an eye for great design and excellent organisational skills are essential. Experience of working with design software (InDesign/Photoshop) is desirable and previous experience in children’s publishing is highly preferred. We are looking for somebody with a proven track record in leading creative and effective children’s marketing campaigns.
This role is a full time maternity cover and offers hybrid working. Our office is in central London.

The Role
Reporting to the Heads of Marketing & Publicity, the Marketing and Publicity Assistant provides key administrative support to a busy and dynamic team and covers a range of duties including responding to media queries, organising press and influencer mailings, assisting with author tours, events and signings, collating and distributing media coverage, producing promotional material, digital marketing support across all channels including social media and newsletters. About the role
We have the rare opportunity for a full-time Digital Marketing and Content Executive to join the Women’s Prize team on a one-year fixed-term contract. The position will report to the Executive Director with day-to-day matrix reporting to the Digital Director, and be a core part of the team, speaking directly to readers and writers across our channels daily, crafting content that aligns with the Women’s Prize Trust’s core values and delivers our mission to champion equity for women in the world of books.
This role will be integral to the small Women’s Prize Trust team and will provide support across a variety of digital activations, campaigns and events. The postholder will work on owned, earned and shared digital channels. This might, for instance, mean creating content for and publishing to the Women’s Prize Trust website and scheduling newsletters (owned), creating social media engagement, post and reports (earned) and providing assistance for content and digital activations on partner channels (shared). We need someone who is fluent across multiple digital content types and digital marketing channels, who is passionate about the Women’s Prize Trust’s mission, excited to work with talent and the world of books in general, and energised by the prospect of a diverse day-to-day role, full of variety and the opportunity to be creative and have your voice heard.
Person Specification
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience managing multiple social platforms and a track record of creating engaging brand content across Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and others
