Key duties:

  • Using the full marketing mix, including social media, email marketing, and developing and monitoring digital advertising campaigns using Facebook and Amazon ads among others
  • Creating marketing campaigns for several books per week
  • Budget strategy with a complete overview of ROI across our platforms/tools
  • Monitoring key competitor and market activity
  • Pitching into other areas of the business as required

Experience/skills required:

  • Previous digital marketing experience, ideally in the publishing industry
  • Previous experience of planning, implementing and measuring digital advertising campaigns
  • Proven success with CPC ad campaigns (Facebook and Amazon ads would be good)
  • Excellent numeracy
  • Copywriting
  • Data analysis, using Excel
  • A strong eye for design and experience creating ads (.gifs/.jpegs)
  • Excellent attention to detail with very strong communication and organisational skills
  • Proactive and resourceful with the ability to work independently
  • A keen technological proficiency and interest in keeping up-to-date with the latest developments
  • An interest in learning about other areas of the business and an ability to synergize with the rest of the team

A keen interest in crime/genre fiction is not essential but is definitely a bonus!

The UK Marketing & Publicity team is responsible for promoting and publicising this entire list to trade customers and consumers. This role will report to and support Usborne’s Director of UK Marketing & Global Branding, and form a pivotal position in a fast-paced and effective team.

We are looking for someone to take a lead role in this talented and dynamic team: overseeing staff, managing budgets, organising systems and processes, and of course planning and implementing effective marketing campaigns on time and on budget.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, managing people and campaigns. They will exhibit excellent organisational skills and an understanding of the strategic goals of the business. We are looking for someone who can work well with people and processes, and who can balance creative talent with return on investment.
