This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and ambitious individual to join the campaigns team working across the Special Interest division. Imprints include: Continuum, Green Tree, Sport, Business, Wildlife, Philip Wilson, Reeds and Sigma. Our award-winning publishing lists include a wide range of distinguished non-fiction from current affairs to popular science, from religion to wellbeing, and from business to fine art, alongside the world’s most famous sports book, The Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack. Tasks and responsibilities
• Create and implement marketing campaigns to drive sales and maximise profit
• Effectively communicate marketing campaigns to all key stakeholders both internal and external
• Regularly communicate with Bloomsbury’s global offices
• Stay informed about new marketing and publicity insights, developments and opportunities
• Proactively identify and build partnerships for key titles, brands and authors
• Manage the creation and distribution of the annual nautical and wildlife catalogue
• Manage and attend events and conferences relevant to the list.
• Manage content for the online communities, social media.
• Work closely with publicity colleagues to ensure marketing and publicity campaigns are fully integrated and get the best ROI
Skill, knowledge and experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the current marketing mix, including advertising, DM, publicity, catalogues, promotions and digital marketing
• Knowledge of community building, social media, email, online advertising
• Experience of book marketing
• The ability to multi-task and work on several different projects simultaneously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The Faber marketing department are looking to recruit a marketing manager in a parental leave cover role for a period of up to one year. Working on campaigns for authors such as Leïla Slimani, Andrew O’Hagan and Sebastian Barry, this is a role for a creative and capable marketer who is comfortable working on a diverse list of literary fiction, non-fiction and poetry. You’ll be experienced in running ambitious and original campaigns as well as presenting your ideas in author meetings and pitches, an effective copywriter who is easily able to communicate your design vision and somebody who can identify audiences and knows how best to reach them. Working in a busy team, this is a job for a resourceful marketer who can plan and implement innovative campaigns for our books and authors.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing campaigns for a range of adult fiction, non-fiction and poetry titles
- Producing trade sell-in materials such as proofs, presenters and point of sale
- Working with a media agency to plan effective advertising campaigns
- Collaborating closely with publicity and sales colleagues to deliver joined-up campaigns which drive sales
- Briefing and project-managing freelance designers to produce a wide range of content
- Managing campaign spend ensuring activity is delivered on time and within budget
- Writing copy for book proofs, advertising and print materials
- Planning and implementing social media advertising campaigns
- Presenting ideas and campaign plans internally and externally

The Opportunity
Bloomsbury, a leading independent publisher in the UK, is looking for a maternity cover for the role of Head of Digital Marketing – Social Media. This multi-faceted, creative and exciting role covers the social media strategy for our key brands and lead title campaigns (including authors like J.K. Rowling, Sarah J. Maas, Tom Kerridge, Elizabeth Gilbert).
This is a global role (covering the UK, US, Australian and Indian offices), reporting to the Group Director, Consumer Marketing & Publicity.
The Role
Harry Potter:
• Responsible for the digital marketing strategy for Harry Potter books across UK, India, Australia and Canada, working closely with the Brand Manager and Head of Children’s Marketing and Publicity. This includes
• devising and implementing our social media campaigns, year-round
• commissioning, scripting, and producing short-form videos (working with freelance animators and video agencies)
Social media:
• Working alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager to oversee the global social media strategy (UK, US, India and Australia) for over 80 accounts across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
• Staying across the latest social media developments
• Educating and training staff and authors on social networks, including examples of best practice
Line management:
• Line management of Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and co-line management of Digital Marketing Executive (Children’s)
Skills, Knowledge, Experience
• Experience of delivering high-profile social media campaigns
• Experience of commissioning and producing short-form video
• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders including authors, editors, freelancer designers/animators, digital agencies
• Up-to-date knowledge of best practises of social media advertising (mainly Facebook and Instagram) and industry developments

What you’ll be doing
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Marketing Manager to join the Hachette Children’s Group Marketing team for one year, in a maternity cover role, focussing on middle grade, teen and YA publishing.
Reporting to the Group Marketing and Communications Director, you’ll be responsible for planning, presenting and implementing your own campaigns and overseeing the campaigns of a team of three, to deliver industry leading marketing for Hachette Children’s Groups 8+ fiction and non-fiction titles and authors and illustrators, through all channels and markets.
Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be an experienced strategic marketer with solid management experience and a broad understanding of a wide marketing mix for both B2B and B2C channels. The role
- Assist the Senior Education Marketing Manager with overall strategy for the list.
